Our client is a leading international company specialising in FMCG industry. They are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join their team.
The accounting team consists of 4 people, who are collectively responsible for all financial activities in BENELUX.
Responsibilities/Tasks
Management and processing of financial transactions in the general ledger
Executing month-end and year-end closings
Preparing financial reports such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements
Reconciling general ledger entries and resolving any discrepancies
Preparing various tax returns and ensuring timely payments and compliance with tax regulations
Supporting internal and external audits
Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase the efficiency and accuracy of financial administration
Collaborating with other departments to gather and analyze financial data
Assisting with financial projects such as system implementations, process improvements, and other ad-hoc projects
Requirements
Relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in FMCG
A completed degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
A team player with a proactive attitude and able to work independently
Good Microsoft Office skills
Fluent in Dutch and English, knowledge of French is a plus
Must be eligible to work in the Netherlands. No sponsorship available
Nice to have:
Knowledge of Oracle JD Edwards
