The DGU Data & AI Strat., Gov. & Tech Coe is looking to recruit a GenAI Data Scientist.

What you will do: This role involves developing and maintaining web applications that leverage generative AI models, focusing on both frontend and backend technologies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Angular and React for frontend development and a strong background in backend development using the Azure stack.
GenAI Model Application: Apply Generative AI models and techniques such as semantic indexing, summarization, prompt engineering, and advanced RAG to implement and enhance AI products; Experiment with and implement state-of-the-art GenAI frameworks and tools. Data Analysis and Modeling: Analyze large text corpora to identify trends, patterns, and insights; Develop and implement applications involving vector databases, foundational models, multi GenAI agents, GenAI chatbots, and other related technologies; Validate and refine models, indexing procedures, and prompts to ensure accuracy, reliability, and ensuring testing reproducibility. Data & GenAI Pipeline Development: Design and develop data pipelines for data preparation, processing, quality augmentation, indexing in vector databases alongside Data Engineers for GenAI. Technical Knowledge: Understand technical topics and develop expertise in GenAI; Stay updated with the latest advancements in related techniques and GenAI models; Experiment with new tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve existing systems and established practices (increasing maturity). Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions; Ensure documentation, reproducibility, and common practices to enhance collaboration; Communicate findings and insights to nontechnical stakeholders through reports, visualizations, and presentations; Focus on several dimensions of a GenAI project including feasibility, value opportunity, adoption, complexity, maintainability. Innovation and Reusability: Analyze and anticipate parts of projects thatcan be elevated to AI components which are reused in a systematic way to solve typical GenAI challenges; Develop and maintain reusable GenAI components driven by GenAI acceleration of development. What are we looking for: Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field; Proven experience in Generative AI and machine learning. Hands-on experience with foundational models, prompt engineering and RAG; Technical Expertise: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python. Experience with machine learning and GenAI frameworks such as langChain, LlamaIndex, Promptify, Streamlit, or similar; Knowledge of cloud platforms and containerization concepts; Understanding of data governance and MLOps (LLMOps); Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and manage expectations; Some knowledge in Agile methodologies; Proficiency in using project management tools such as Jira or similar; Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; Analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail; This role requires strong collaboration with various teams, including solution architects, development, operations, and business teams. Excellent communication skills are essential, as this role involves explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
