About the Role Ensure the implementation, planning, monitoring, training, and supervision of activities related to Food Safety at the STI (Santa Iria) unit. Collaborate with the Factory Management in maintaining legal requirements and adhere to all Corporate Policies to ensure the food safety of products from SU (Unit Sourcing) STI.
You will be responsible for:
Comply with and enforce the Code of Conduct of Flora Food Group.
Collaborate with the Supply Chain Departments to meet the required food safety standards.
Ensure the implementation of food safety measures and good manufacturing practices for raw materials, chemicals, ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products in accordance with Flora Food Group requirements and GMPs, as well as other legal requirements.
Lead the HACCP, Food Defense, and Food Fraud team, managing their agendas and action plans.
Keep Flora Food Group Departments and Suppliers informed about updates to the food safety system.
Participate in Flora Food Group meetings related to business/production, leading the risk assessment in food safety.
Manage hygiene validations of infrastructure and equipment, as well as develop hygiene plans and provide training in relevant areas.
Manage the pest control plan, implementing improvements to the system.
Ensure the implementation and compliance with GMP rules and provide training to Flora Food Group employees and external stakeholders.
Participate in engineering and continuous improvement projects, assessing the hygienic design of equipment and proposing improvements to ensure product safety.
Inform Factory Management about changes in the business environment or new technologies that may impact food safety.
Collaborate with different teams to implement process improvements.
Identify food safety non-conformities and propose quality improvements.
Contribute to internal or external Quality and Food Safety audits, ensuring compliance with food safety requirements.
Monitor area indicators and collaborate on necessary actions to meet them.
What do we expect from you? You are a professional with at least 5 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in the food industrial sector. You hold a higher education degree in Engineering, ideally in Food Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Agronomy, or related fields. You are proficient in user-level computer skills and possess an intermediate level of English (B2). You are familiar with certification standards such as FSSC 22000, IFS, BRC, and have solid knowledge in QMS, quality, safety, and environmental audits, as well as in the use of the SAP system. You have a deep understanding of HACCP, food microbiology, food safety, and in the domains of food fraud and defense. Your crisis management skills are remarkable, complemented by high accuracy, autonomy, self-demand, and a strong sense of responsibility. You also possess leadership skills, a strong ability to work in a team, and are proactive and focused on communication.
