Pr. 153 NOTICE OF OPENING OF AN INTERNATIONAL SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF AN ASSISTANT RESEARCHER, IN THE SCIENTIFIC AREA(S) OF SOCIOLOGY, FOR THE INSTITUTE OF SOCIOLOGY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PORTO (IS-UP), OF THE FACULTY OF ARTS AND HUMANITIES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PORTO (FLUP) - (OPEN-ENDED EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT)

5. Workplace
The workplace is located at the Institute of Sociology of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, or in any other places necessary to exercise the functions for which he/she is hired, and/or indispensable for his/her professional training.
6. Monthly Salary
The gross monthly salary will be €3 427.59, corresponding to the 1st position, level 9 of the table annexed to Regulation no. 487/2020; or the 1st position, index 195 of the table annexed to the statute of the Scientific Research Career - Decree-Law no. 124/99, of 20 April, in the current version, on an exclusive basis, plus holiday and Christmas allowances, as well as food allowance, in the amount and under the conditions provided for workers in public employment.
8. Functional Content
8.1. According to Article 8(1) of the Regulations, the duties of research staff comprise the following areas:
Research;
Transfer and valorisation of knowledge;
Science and Technology Management and Communication and other tasks;
Teaching and training activities, where applicable.
8.2. According to number 1 of article 13 of the Regulation, the Researcher will be responsible for carrying out research and development activities regularly, as well as all other scientific and technical activities within the scope of the mission of FLUP and the University of Porto, including:
Dynamising the Art and Culture Observatory in Universities;
Contributing to the definition of public policies by drawing up cultural charters, evaluating and monitoring projects and the National Arts Plan;
Boosting the regional cultural information system, to be developed by IS-UP, in coordination with the National Statistics Institute, local councils and artists' and cultural agents' associations;
Carrying out artistic creation and public education/training projects;
Preparing applications for European funds for cultural projects;
Participating in the PhD programme in Sociology and in the supervision of students.
9. Admission requirements
9.1. General admission requirements
This competition is open to national, foreigners and stateless people who hold a PhD degree in the scientific area(s) of Sociology and/or Education Sciences, and holders of a scientific and professional curriculum in the scientific area(s) of this tender, and that shows an appropriate profile for the activities to be carried out.
9.2. Special admission requirements
To determine the appropriate profile for the activity to be carried out, the following are special requirements:
Experience in coordinating and/or participating in fundamental and applied research projects in the field of the sociology of art and culture;
Scientific publications in the scientific area of the competition;
Level of internationalisation (publications, projects, networks and conferences);
Practical knowledge of the singularities of the processes of cultural creation, production, dissemination and reception;
Proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese - candidates of foreign nationality must have proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese corresponding to the standard reference level C1 or higher.
11. Selection Methods
By Article 26 of Regulation 487/2020, the following selection methods will be applied:
Evaluation of the scientific and curricular path of the candidates (ESCP) (70%);
Interview (ENT), to be carried out with the candidates best placed in the ESCP, up to a maximum of 3 (30%).

18.1. Applications must be submitted by 23:59 on 22 November 2024 (local time - Lisbon).
18.2. Applications must be formalised using the online application submission system available on the FLUP website.
20. Filling the vacancy(ies) in the tender procedure
This tendering procedure is intended exclusively to fill the position(s) indicated in this Notice, and may be terminated until the final ranking list of candidates has been approved and will expire when the job on offer has been filled.
21. Reserve List
Based on the final ranking list, a reserve list will be drawn up, which may be used in the event of withdrawal and/or failure to submit the required documentation by the person/s selected within the deadline set for this purpose.
