.Public Notice no.1504/2024 Professor Pedro Nuno Simões Rodrigues, Full Professor of the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Porto, Vice-Rector of the University: Following my Order issued on 13 September 2024, by delegated power under the Ordinance no. 9493/2022 published in the Official Gazette (Diário da República ), 2nd series, no. 148 of 2nd August, this call for applications is published for two positions of Assistant Professor in the Disciplinary Area of Geography, at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. The application procedure will remain in force for a period of thirty business days, as from the date immediately following the publication of this Notice in the Official Gazette. Evaluation Criteria The evaluation will be based on the following requirements: Be the authors or co-authors in the last eight years of at least three scientific works in the disciplinary area of Geography published in journals, volumes, or academic publishers recognised by the Selection Committee as of high quality. The evaluation in relative merit is based on the evaluation of the candidate's Curriculum Vitae with particular relevance given to the activity carried out in the last 8 years immediately prior to the publication date of this Public Notice. Scientific Production (MC1) Quality and quantity of scientific production in the area of Human Geography (books, book chapters, articles in indexed journals, articles in other academic journals, conference proceedings, and other scientific works). This criterion must also meet the quality and diversity of the eight publications selected by the candidates (40%). Coordination and Development of Scientific Projects (MC2) Quality and quantity of scientific projects in which the candidate has coordinated or participated, publicly funded on a competitive basis by national and international agencies within the subject area of the call (35%). Intervention in Activities within the Scientific Community (MC3) The candidate's capacity to intervene in the scientific community, namely by the presentation of lectures by invitation, presentation of papers at conferences and scientific meetings, organisation of scientific events, and participation in academic examination boards (25%). Teaching Activity (EMP1) Experience, quality, and diversity of the teaching activity carried out by the candidate in the subarea of Human Geography (40%). Pedagogical Projects (EMP2) Coordination and implementation of new pedagogical projects within the subarea of Human Geography (40%). Pedagogical Monitoring and Supervision (EMP3) Monitoring and supervision of students, experience in administration or pedagogical management (20%).
