Title and Summary
Financial Inclusion - Director, Product Management
Who is Mastercard?
Mastercard is a global technology company in the payments industry. We connect consumers, financial institutions, merchants, governments, digital partners, businesses and other organizations worldwide by enabling electronic payments and making those payment transactions safe, simple, smart and accessible. Our company's aspiration is to power economies and empower people, building a sustainable economy where everyone prospers. Every day, our dedicated teams around the world are focused on addressing real needs and building toward this goal. They bring their creativity, their knowledge and their unique perspectives to drive innovation and our business in meaningful ways.
Overview:
The Financial Inclusion Consumer Solutions team is on a mission to include over one billion people in this digital economy by 2025, and we're making fast progress. However, while the number of bank accounts is quickly rising, these accounts are not being fully utilized. Large parts of the population remain unbanked or underserved. The Financial Inclusion team aims to accelerate the movement of the underserved towards true financial health, encouraging frequent usage and the responsible use of credit.
We achieve this through understanding and representing the needs of the underbanked segment and their local SMBs, in developed and developing markets, and matching these needs to existing and new products/services within Mastercard, thereby optimizing our core business for this under tapped segment. The team's mission is therefore to identify opportunities to bundle, optimize or otherwise target existing products, services, collateral and other assets or GTM approaches on the FI segment, and in some instances, develop solutions to fill identified gaps.
The successful candidate for the role of Director, Product Management will work with key internal and external partners to identify, bundle, modify or build as needed, and deliver products and services that support the financially underserved segment and our Financial Inclusion strategy. In summary, a successful candidate will:
Use a data driven methodology to identify key areas of opportunity, determine prioritization, and leverage internal & external assets to create solutions that enable differentiated product constructs to be deployed in the market.
Serve as the Product Owner for commercial solutions that are specifically targeted to the underserved.
Lead use case expansion and commercialization efforts for existing and new financial inclusion targeted products to achieve scale, closely collaborating with regional and market teams.
Manage relationships with external partners to jointly deliver new capabilities to the underserved segment.
Role
Identify opportunities and drive end-to-end product strategy, optimization, and GTM for target segment.
Conduct and oversee research to leverage market insights and best practices.
Collaborate closely with other MA product teams, Legal, Privacy, CX and Finance to identify and translate market needs into a global product strategy and product requirements.
Work with global and regional product management teams to enhance go-to-market strategies and customer pipelines with a focus on the target segment.
Embrace the complexity of the Financial Inclusion ecosystem and act as an ambassador for Mastercard internally and externally.
Work with key external partners (Financial Institutions, fintechs, technology providers, NGOs, digital players, relevant private and non-profit organizations etc.) where needed, including senior executives.
