We have introduced Financial Accountant role to be a great addition to our team.

This position requires a highly organised and suitably qualified person to manage the accounts and finance areas of the business. The Financial Accountant assists the Managing Director in developing existing relationships with current clients and manages a portfolio of assigned clients.

Responsibilities:

Prepare financial statements for presentation to director, management, governing and statutory bodies.

Maintain accuracy of information contained in financial reports in compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements.

Provide financial and taxation advice to Managing Director on business structures, plans, project budgeting, financial audits and operations.

Generate quotes, client invoices and statements to maintain cash flow.

Undertake responsibility for paying staff wages and respond to staff payroll queries.

Respond to queries from suppliers, customers and staff.

Enter data, maintain records, and create reports. Bring books to trial balance.

Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal parties and operate as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to accounts.

Report potential financial risks to Director.

Examine organisations income and expenditure and all operating costs.

Reconcile transactions for all business bank accounts.

Introduce and maintain accounting Software when required along with employee data.

Liaise with financial institutions.

Manage email and internal control systems.

Track outstanding debts. Plan course of action to recover money owed. Locate and contact debtors.

Advise on financial matters of business, suspected fraud and insolvency situations.

Maintain company's asset register.

Administer credit card and employee expense reimbursement and deductions.

Maintain privacy to all business accounts and related financial information.

Maintain paperwork and store important files in Director' records.

Participate in organisation-wide, site based and team meetings, collaborative planning activities and other meetings or activities relevant to position.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes ensuring services meet professional and industry standards.

Observe Work Health and Safety responsibilities as identified in organisational policies and procedures.

Contribute to developing a culturally safe workplace for people.

Observe equity and diversity responsibilities as identified in organisational policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Previous experience in similar role of minimum 5-7 years is must.

Degree from a recognised university relating to Accounting and Finance is essential.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices in a business.

Demonstrated expertise in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite-Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Excellent communication skills. Preferably Portuguese and English.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Problem solving and analytical skills.
