DPR Construction is seeking to fill a key role in Raleigh Business Unit as the Field Technology - Manager . Reporting to the Field Technology - Sr Manager and Business Unit VDC – Sr Manager , the successful candidate will support the implementation and execution of Field Technology Services including Site & Building Surveys/Control, Existing Condition Surveys, Quality Control, and layout of Self Perform work across the Business Unit while providing support in the Southeast region on an as-needed basis.

Promote and oversee the implementation and execution of Field Technology Services across the Business Unit to support our work, including:
Existing Condition Surveys
Site & Building Control Programs
Quality Control
Layout and/or support of our Self Perform and Trade Partner work
Construction Progress Photo & Video Documentation
Ensure the successful execution of Field Technology services in alignment with DPR's best practices by directly performing and/or supporting our team of Field Technology professionals.
Build and manage a team of Field Technology professionals for the local business unit by forecasting and planning future work and scheduling daily activities.
Support the planning of project resourcing and budgeting of Field Technology Services.
Lead the implementation and support of technical best practices of DPR's Field Technology Services such as:
Validation of design coordinates and establishing additional control as needed to support various phases of design and construction.
Setup and Management of Site and building control networks throughout construction.
Field capturing of existing conditions to ensure the proper and accurate documentation of existing conditions such as site improvements, site utilities, buildings and structures, MEP systems, etc.
Execution of Reality Capture services and production of deliverables to support Existing Condition Surveys and Quality Control services using various field technology platforms such as terrestrial laser scanning, mobile LiDar, GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), and photogrammetry.
Point cloud registration and post-processing.
Advanced sUAS (drone) data collection and processing.
Layout activities for Self-Perform work primarily focused on concrete and interior walls.
Advanced multi-trade layout with Robotics (Dusty, SitePrint, LightYX, Jaibot).
Work collaboratively with various work groups including Business Unit leadership, Self-Perform Work, VDC, OES (Equipment purchases), Preconstruction, Marketing, and Project Operations.
Support on-site construction team efforts in the implementation of Field Technology Services and VDC applications, processes, and deliverables; support setup of BIM-to-Field equipment and/or software.
Work with local and remote teams to automate the data processing and development of deliverables.
Perform training and best practice implementation through one-on-one support, group trainings, webinars, and workshops.
Train, educate, and mentor project personnel in various field technology software and processes.
Manage Business unit Field Technology Equipment and cost recovery efforts.
Engage in regional and national workgroups for the continued development and improvement of best practices.
Basic Qualifications
We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented individual that will relish performing in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, with ability to multi-task, produce quality deliverables, and meet project-based deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:
Ability to work in a flat-organization environment that requires full transparency, team collaboration, leading by influencing, and socialization of initiatives.
Position requires lifting and carrying moderately heavy equipment (25 lbs+), climbing ladders and occasionally scanning crawl spaces and enclosed ceilings.
Flexible hours; Commercial building scans can start at 6 AM and occasionally require weekend work.
Travel at least 50% of the time, at various construction sites; plan and execute multiple projects daily.
Minimum 5+ years of construction technologies hands-on experience in the AEC industry.
Able to read and understand construction documents, shop drawings, and plans.
Advanced robotic total station knowledge and 5+ years of implementation experience in construction industry.
3D scanning hardware and software knowledge with 5+ years of implementation experience in construction industry.
Advanced knowledge across Hexagon/Leica, Trimble, Topcon, Carlson, and Faro hardware and software platforms.
Advanced knowledge in Autodesk software platforms such as Revit, Recap, AutoCAD, Civil3D, Navisworks, etc.
Advanced knowledge of Pix4D, DroneDeploy, StructionSite and/or other photogrammetry post-processing software packages.
Ability to quickly learn new software tools and teach others.
Total Station and/or Laser Scan course certification(s).
CMiC or equivalent financial software knowledge a plus.
Fluency in Microsoft Software platforms (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Experience building and leading teams.
Ability to manage, train and develop new and existing team members.
Required Education
Minimum 7+ years' relevant technical experience.
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, construction management, engineering, architecture, or similar field.
