FEUP | Postdoctoral Research Grant | Agenda NEXUS - Proposal 1245 NOTICE OF OPENING OF AN INTERNATIONAL SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF A DOCTORATE INITIAL LEVEL RESEARCHER POSITION
By order of 08/11/2024, the Dean of FEUP, Professor Rui Artur Bártolo Calçada, deliberated to open an international selection procedure for the recruitment of 1 Doctorate Initial level within the framework of Agenda NEXUS: Innovation Pact Digital and Green Transition – Transports, Logistics and Mobility, nr. C645112083-00000059, investment project nr. 53, of the Incentive System "Agendas for Business Innovation", financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and by European Funds NextGeneration EU, for research scientific activities in the area of Structural Engineering (structural mechanics and mechanics of materials) and Logistics Engineering (green energy infrastructures, transports and mobility), in the form of an Uncertain Term Employment Contract, by legal imperative, under the terms of paragraph b) of no. 1 of article 6 of RJEC, ex vi of no. 2 of article 18 of RJEC, and will be maintained only for the period necessary to execute the tasks defined in the project and identified below, whose expected duration is 11 months, never exceeding the maximum limit of six years.
This recruitment aims to perform activities corresponding to the category of Doctorate Initial level, as stated in article 8 of Regulation No. 487/2020, of May 22.
The Doctorate Initial level is responsible for carrying out R&D activities within the scope of Agenda NEXUS, contributing to the development of technological solutions for use in structural applications, in the scope of WP8- GREEN AND ENERGY SOLUTIONS FOR PORTS AND LOGISTICS, contributing to the following project work:
Development of technological solutions for infrastructures of green energy production systems;
Design of structural systems related to the physical infrastructure of green energy production systems;
Evaluation of the impact of optimised structures on the service life of infrastructures and associated resource use.
The selected researcher may also collaborate in teaching and training activities in the area of research.
The scientific areas of this selection procedure are: Structural Engineering; Structural Mechanics; and Mechanics of Materials.
The monthly remuneration to be paid is €2.294,95, corresponding to level 33 of the Single Salary Table, approved by Order No. 1553-C/2008 of December 31 and level 5, position 1 from "Regulamento n.º 487/2020".
Admission Requirements This competition is open to national candidates, foreigners, and stateless persons with a doctoral degree in civil engineering or mechanical engineering, for 5 years or less, with a scientific and professional curriculum showing an appropriate profile for development activity.
A Portuguese higher education institution must recognise any doctorate awarded by a foreign higher education institution by article 25 of the Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of August 16.
Specific Admission Requirements: Be the author of at least five (5) papers published in English in journals indexed in "Scopus", "Science Citation Index", or "Science Citation Index Expanded", reporting topics related to Structural Integrity, Fatigue and Fracture.
Have skills and previous experience in Structural Integrity.
Recruitment Method The selection methods are:
Evaluation of the curricular path and scientific career of the applicants (APCC) (90%);
Interview (ENT) - (10%).
Final Classification The Final Classification (CF) will be obtained by applying the following formula: CF = (APCC*0.9) + (ENT*0.1).
