NOTICE OF OPENING OF AN INTERNATIONAL SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF AN ASSISTANT RESEARCHER IN THE SCIENTIFIC FIELD OF ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES AT THE SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PORTO (FEP) – (PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT)
Preamble
By order of the Director of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto, Professor Óscar João Atanázio Afonso, it is announced that an international selection procedure is open for the recruitment of an Assistant Researcher in the scientific field of Economics and Management, subfield of Economics, in the specific domain of the Economics of Aging, under a permanent employment contract.
This competition is governed by the provisions contained in Regulation No. 487/2020 - Research, Science and Technology Staff Regulations of the University of Porto and by other applicable legislation.
Scientific area: Economics and Management
Workplace
The workplace is located at the Centre for Economics and Finance at the University of Porto, or at any other locations necessary for the performance of the duties.
Remuneration
The gross monthly salary is 3,427.59€, corresponding to the 1st position, level 9 of the table attached to Regulation No. 487/2020.
Hiring Regime
The Assistant Researcher will be employed under a permanent employment contract, with a five-year probationary period.
Functional Duties
As stated in Article 8, No. 1 of the Regulation, the duties of research staff include:
Research;
Knowledge transfer and valorization;
Science and technology management and communication;
Teaching and training activities, when applicable.
The Assistant Researcher will regularly engage in research and development activities, including:
Conducting high-quality research on aging and its implications.
Organizing workshops for discussion on economic issues associated with aging.
Promoting collaboration among researchers.
Participating in the design and execution of research projects related to aging.
Organizing courses on the economics of longevity for students.
II – Selection Process
Admission Requirements
This competition is open to candidates who hold a PhD in the field of Economics, demonstrating a profile suitable for the activities to be developed.
Specific Admission Requirements
Proven experience in research in the field of the Economics of Aging.
At least one article related to the Economics of Aging published in the last five years in indexed scientific journals.
Preferred Requirements
Participation in competitively funded scientific projects in the field of the Economics of Aging.
Strong skills in programming (STATA, R, or Python), data analysis, and results visualization.
Selection Methods
Evaluation of scientific and professional path (70%);
Interview with the top candidates (30%).
18. Application Submission
