No Offer Description NOTICE OF THE OPENING OF AN INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF ONE RESEARCH ASSISTANT Ana Cristina Freire, Full Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, hereby advertises the opening for 10 working days of an international call for recruitment of one Research Assistant, with a Master's degree, resolutive term uncertain, within the Project EAPA_0004/2022, financed by INTERREG. 1. Main research field : Biological Sciences 2. Admission requirements: Application can be submitted by any nationals, foreigners and stateless people who meet the following conditions cumulatively: hold an MSc degree in the above-mentioned scientific area. If the candidate holds an MSc awarded by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions established in the Decree-Law no. 66/2018 on July 16. All the formalities established in the Decree-Law must be met until the hiring. Preferred requirements: Experience in cetacean monitoring in marine environment; Experience in coordinating teams of Marine Mammal Observers; Experience in compilingand processing data, namely in GIS environment; Practical experience inmanaging partnerships between research and other entities (e.G. private companies, NGOs, management entities, …). 3. Functions to be performed: Logistic organization of Marine Mammal Observers, in cooperation with the commercial company of marine transportation; Cooperation with the commercial company of marine transportation to maintain partnership, boarding of observers, and installation of scientific equipment onboard; Training of Marine Mammal Observers on monitoring protocols and species identification; Data compilation and processing for posterior analysis; 5. The place of work: The functions will be developed in the Department of Biology of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP). 6. Duration of contract: This employment contract is scheduled to start in November 2024 under a full-time regime. 7. Remuneration: €1.861,25 (first position of Full-time Research Assistant category, with remuneration level 3, according to Regulation No. 487/2020 of the Research, Science and Technology Staff of the University of Porto, published in the 2nd series of Diário da República on May 22, 2020). 8
