Job Description As an intern in our UX/UI Design team in Aveiro, you will be part of a talented, motivated, and cross-functional team responsible for conceptualizing and assisting in the development and implementation of design concepts for mobile and desktop user interfaces of different products.
You will collaborate with other designers, product owners, and developers by participating in UX activities, ideating in UI flows, and creating conceptual prototypes, and visual designs for digital products.
Your contribution to something big: Understand business requirements for multiple products, working closely with various stakeholders; Advocate for design concepts with a clear flow through user flows and high-fidelity prototypes; Participate in UX activities, such as user testing to determine the usability of a particular design solution; Understand our users to uncover user needs and desired features for products; Design UI components, translate the brand identity, and follow multi-brand guidelines; Managing our internal design system and main product files, ensuring we stay up-to-date with the latest guidelines; Learn how to work with brand style guides in a corporate environment; Optimize existing user interface designs by identifying and resolving usability or accessibility issues; Strive for intuitive and user-centered solutions; Learn and promote best practices and standards within the team; Work with multiple design tools supporting the transition between them; Be part of a team working in an Agile environment; Be part of a culturally diverse team; Participate in a monthly Design Studio to exchange ideas and experiences with other designers from different teams and products; Network with colleagues from other business units located in other countries.
Qualifications What distinguishes you: Ability to work in an international and flexible team environment; Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (mandatory); Academic degree/knowledge in Communication Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design or similar; Good design skills, with a good understanding of typography, color, and layout; Basic knowledge of user-centered design methods; Basic knowledge of user interface design patterns and guidelines for responsive web applications; Basic knowledge and experience with up-to-date design tools for wireframing, flow diagrams, prototyping, and visual design (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite); Awareness of user interface design standards such as design principles and usability heuristics, as well as user interface patterns and interaction design best practices to ensure quality; Team player; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with various stakeholders to discuss and present design solutions; Good time management skills; Critical thinker with a focus on problem-solving and detail-driven.
