About the role As an Expert Silver in the Interiors team, you will be closely involved with evaluating and arranging lots submitted by our users. You will be responsible for creating attractive auctions every week in collaboration with other experts and thereby using your expert knowledge of classic furniture, brocante and decorative objects from all over the globe. Catawiki strives to keep user transactions as transparent and fair as possible, and your expertise and experience play a large part in maintaining this standard; you know better than anyone what items are of interest to our users.
You will review lot titles, descriptions, lot pictures, and provide users with an estimated value based on this information. If you need to reject a submission, you do so professionally and courteously. Your efforts result in exceptional auctions that bidders will find irresistible.
You will be covering for an expert who will be going on maternity leave from the end of September until the end of January 2025.
What you'll bring A true expert in Antique silver, with broad knowledge of international silver
You are a natural team player and thrive in a diverse team environment
Excellent English communication
Strong computer skills necessary
An extensive network of dealers/buyers is a plus
Documented commercial experience such as; price negotiations, setting up commercial seller agreements, actively sourcing new business and leads, and more is a plus
An affinity for numbers and analysing auction results is a plus

Our offices and way of working We have sensational offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon. Most of our employees are within commutable distance of one of our office locations and enjoy a hybrid work model. This means we expect you to be in the office 2 out of 5 days, roughly 40% of your working time, to collaborate and connect with each other. The exception is of course, if the job description specifically states that the role is 100% remote, as some experts and sales positions are.
