The lawyer will be in charge of the following activities:
Legal support and advice to the Euronext Group, working closely with the legal and regulatory team located in various Euronext jurisdictions. She/he will support the companies of the Group active in various domains (trading, post-trading (custody and settlement), and IT businesses).
Among others, here is a sample list of activities in the remit:
General legal assistance to the Euronext Group entities concerning civil, corporate, commercial, financial, and bank law, and advice on regulatory matters, particularly on post-trade.
General legal assistance to the business operations of Euronext Securities regarding the application of the CSDR.
Relationship management with Euronext regulators, including the Portuguese regulator.
Advice related to new products.
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, including IT contracts, liaising with Procurement, and when necessary, with providers and clients, as well as any other relevant legal documentation concerning Euronext Group entities.
Participating in drafting the Rule Book of Euronext Group entities, including Euronext CSDs and related implementing documentation, and controlling the respective processes of internal approval and notification to the regulator.
Coordinating various legal and regulatory aspects cross-border, involving international contracts and the implementation of changing national and European legislation (including drafting agreements and policies, negotiations with users and client organizations).
Working cross-border and developing and maintaining excellent relations with (foreign) and (non-legal) colleagues and regulators.
Attendance at meetings, conference calls, workshops, and working groups, in Portugal and abroad, with colleagues and external professionals, in Portuguese and/or English.
In so doing, the lawyer will:
Partner with the business and other relevant support functions, developing a thorough understanding of the commercial and strategic objectives of the Euronext group while managing legal and regulatory risk exposure (i.e., understanding the issue and producing viable and tangible solutions).
