Environmental Specialist, Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP)Our team is seeking an Environmental Specialist who will be responsible for managing environmental compliance at Amazon Facilities within Spain.
They will also provide technical support at our existing operations and future expansion across Spain.
The Environmental Specialist will report to the Sr. Environmental Compliance Manager for Spain through the EU Environmental Assurance and Protection team.
This role entails 50% travel to multiple sites across Spain.
Responsibilities: Manage and execute multi-site responsibilities to comply with air emissions, stormwater, waste, wastewater and other environmental related laws, regulations and permits.Participate in the development, introduction, control, improvement and application of environmental management control systems, procedures, processes and products.Measure and analyze sites' performance against published requirements in environmental policies.Cooperate in contacts with the authorities and in the implementation of any notification, permission and approval procedures according to environmental law.Participate in the annual data collection and reporting on environmentally relevant issues. Key job responsibilities: Assist in the implementation and enforcement of standards and policies to support environmental and regulatory compliance.Complete environmental inspections and performance analysis, monitor metrics, and facilitate site implementation of Amazon environmental standards.Manage waste management activities, classification, reporting and permitting requirements.Monitor and provide guidance on site performance against applicable environmental regulations, programs and Amazon global standards.Support other sites with environmental compliance.Ensure site leadership and employees' training.Analyze environmental metrics and review trends to determine where improvements are needed.Identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies. Minimum Qualifications: A completed Bachelor's Degree in civil, chemical or environmental engineering or related field of engineering study.Experience serving as an environmental technical resource or program manager.Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.In-depth knowledge of EU, country and region specific regulations.Experience in engaging with Regulatory Agencies in permit applications.Broad knowledge of EU environmental regulations.Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables.Must be detail-oriented and technically oriented.
