Your New Role As an End User Compute Consultant, you will work within the IT Services infrastructure team, which consists of approximately 100 IT professionals.
Responsibilities Act as a primary technical contact for key technical areas, coordinating with stakeholders and colleagues as required. Contribute to the planning,
design, and delivery of IT initiatives. Configure tools to automate the provisioning, testing, and deployment of infrastructure. Produce and own system and
infrastructure designs, policies, and documentation. Provide reports and proposals
for improvements to colleagues and stakeholders. Provide advice and guidance
to support the adoption of methods and tools. Drive IT Services in the
migration towards a code-centric model for managing infrastructure. Act as a support escalation point for the 3rd line infrastructure support provider. Proactively manage IT infrastructure to minimise business disruption and identify and drive initiatives to improve the quality and effectiveness of the infrastructure services. Manage and provide 3rd line support for infrastructure platforms in accordance with agreed service levels, standards, and processes. Discover and remove technical
debt as part of a continuous improvement work ethic. Drive decision-making across
different teams and disciplines, seeking informed decisions that lead to
value-add, quality, and appropriate outcomes. Drive the adoption of Agile
values, principles, and practices within IT Services. What You'll Need to Succeed Self-motivated, confident, and decisive, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a "can do" attitude to meeting business needs. Demonstrable technical
solution design skills. Collaborative team player, keen to learn and share ideas. Passion for technology, particularly how IT enables the business. Stay up-to-date with emerging
technologies and industry trends to propose and implement improvements. Ability to efficiently manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Experience working within an Agile environment (desirable). Technical Skills Expertise in modern workplace
technologies (e.g., Microsoft 365). Operating Systems (e.g.,
Windows 10/11). Client applications (e.g.,
Office 365, Teams, OneDrive). Device management and
deployment (e.g., Intune, Autopilot). Understanding of virtualization techniques (e.g., VMware vSphere). Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (e.g., Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Azure Virtual Desktop). Scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell). Packaging and delivery of applications. Knowledge of security best
practices (e.g., patching and conditional access). Strong system administration and troubleshooting skills. Relevant certifications, such
