Do you want to shape the future for green energy? Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development > Protective Functions
Protective Functions (PF) sits within Blades R&D which is responsible for the design of the complete blade. PF is a team of engineers located in the USA, PT, UK, and CN, now seeking to grow in PT. We are focused on designing blades with innovative and robust products that protect and prevent the effects of extreme climate conditions on wind turbines. We are a team of 'doers' that make things happen. The ability to readily embrace tasks is crucial for us as a group. You will quickly see the results of your endeavors, as within months they materialize in Products & Components being manufactured in our Facilities. The selected candidate will take great satisfaction and pride from seeing a m+ composite product flying on a turbine, knowing they played an important part in its design.
Responsibilities
The Engineer will provide electrical engineering input towards verified technology for integration into a blade design. This will include:
Electrical 2D/3D review to ensure the compatibility of the electrical components part of LPS (lightning protection system) design or non-part that may interfere, against standards to prevent damage.
Input to blade component FMEA and the verification procedure/report associated with LPS verification of components stemming from the design verification plan.
Generate the design description for verified technology integration into new products.
Maintenance of the test and component overview configurator for verified technologies transfers.
