The Town of Lisbon Public Works is currently seeking a full-time Driver/Laborer who operates in a skilled manner, with automotive and construction equipment in support of work performed by the Public Works Department. The individual performs a variety of manual tasks when necessary and does related work as required.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of proper operational use and maintenance of the particular type of equipment to which assigned.Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in the operation of trucks and equipment.Knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations involving Public Works equipment.Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions as well as direct other workers.Ability to take the initiative and resolve problems of assigned tasks.ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:High school graduate, with two years of experience in the operation of trucks and light construction equipment.Preferred Class B CDL or Class A CDL issued by the State of Maine.Normal working hours are generally between 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and vary seasonally. Nights, weekends, and holiday work will be required in association with snow maintenance. Normal Spring/Summer work hours are 4 days workweek Monday through Thursday 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The pay range for this position starts at $21.80 to $23.79 per hour, depending on experience.
