Offer Description We are seeking researchers who currently hold permanent positions at Inserm/CNRS (CR or DR level) or junior scientists who require a host laboratory to support their candidacy for such positions starting in 2025. Our DREAM Team is based at Inserm unit U1085 Irset ( https://www.irset.org ) in Rennes, the capital of Brittany. Both Irset and our group are in the process of organizing the next five-year research plan (2028–2033), which must be finalized by early 2026. The candidate who joins us will serve as a (co-)group leader.
Our team's core expertise includes biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, and genomics. We have access to a broad range of local and national technological platforms ( https://biosit.univ-rennes.fr/les-plates-formes-technologiques ). We focus on fundamental processes that regulate cell division, differentiation, and stress responses in normal and pathological cells, with a particular emphasis on somatic malignancies and neurodegenerative disorders.
The candidate must have a proven track record of excellence in the field of molecular/cell biology (2-6 years of postdoctoral experience) in the case of individuals who wish to obtain a CRCN position at Inserm/CNRS.
Specific Requirements Ideally, the candidate should speak French well enough to participate in teaching activities at the University of Rennes.

Additional Information Candidates who hold a permanent Inserm/CNRS position are able to join a thriving Inserm unit and an established team including Inserm staff and professors, lecturers, and research technicians from the University of Rennes.
Candidates who seek a permanent position have a host laboratory that enables them to submit their candidacy at the next Inserm/CNRS hiring round in January/February 2025.
Eligibility Criteria Candidates who seek a host laboratory to submit an application for an Inserm/CNRS position must have a PhD in life sciences and a proven track record of excellence in molecular/cell biology via publications in international peer-reviewed journals, successful fundraising, and/or patent applications.
Selection Process Candidates who hold a permanent Inserm/CNRS position will be invited for a presentation at IRSET and interviews with group leaders and the director of IRSET.
We discourage candidacies that are not based on a strong publication record both in terms of their number and the quality of the journal they appeared in.
