As a member of the hotel's Executive Committee, the Director of Sales and Marketing is a highly visible role with exposure to Senior and Corporate leadership. The Director of Sales and Marketing has direct oversight of the Sales and Marketing operation of the hotel. The DOSM is responsible for the Sales and Marketing Budget/P&L, revenue forecasting, advertising, marketing, developing and writing business plans, and ownership meetings. Responsibilities also include the supervision of sales managers, trainees, interns, and administrative staff. Additional responsibilities include the recruitment and hiring of sales staff, training, managing, and coaching sales managers in their selling process to meet company goals and maximize hotel revenues.
The DOSM must be proficient in general computer knowledge and able to train and monitor both the group and transient contractual agreement process, quoting rates, sending referrals, setting traces, and managing retention, reactivation, and acquisition accounts. The DOSM reports directly to the General Manager and Regional Vice President of Sales responsible for the hotel. Communication and organizational skills are of the utmost importance. Qualifications3 to 5 years of progressive hotel Sales experience in a directive position.Proven track record in leading sales strategies for luxury lifestyle hotels and resorts.Deep understanding of key feeder markets (US/Canada).Strong background in Marketing for luxury lifestyle hotels and resorts, including managing public relations and media relations for luxury brands.Experience in pre-opening and opening residences a plus, including market analysis, brand positioning, and sales strategies.Results-driven with strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and lead a Sales & Marketing team.Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.Service-oriented style with professional presentation skills.Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
