Located in the heart of Lisbon, our historic Hotel wears the cultural heart and soul of Portugal on its sleeve. Inside, art-deco sensibilities mingle with an updated Louis XVI style, and a collection of important contemporary local artwork fills our halls. Outside, views of the city's rolling hills and brightly tiled exteriors spread out before you. After spending the day exploring the city sights, many just steps from the Hotel, we invite you for a seasonally inspired, Michelin-starred gastronomic experience at CURA restaurant.About the role:We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Director of Marketing who will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation and evaluation of all marketing activities including positioning, placement, sales, catering, pricing & revenue management, reservations, advertising, and public relations for the Four Seasons Hotel, Ritz Lisbon.Reporting to the General Manager, you will be an integral member of the Hotel Leadership team responsible for making key strategic and operational decisions for the hotel.What you will do:Oversee Sales & Marketing Departments for the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon, including Sales, Catering, Revenue, PR & Communications, and Reservations.Build a talented and driven team, set a good example, and foster a culture of ongoing learning and development among staff members; actively engage in industry and employee relations events and initiatives.Lead the strategic development and progression of marketing and sales plans and adjust these plans to ensure the success of the property's goals.Adhere to the Four Seasons Operating Standards and be a role model for the Four Seasons Leadership Behaviors.Represent Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon in all areas, internally and externally, to the highest standard, in line with established guidelines and procedures and ensure brand clarity and positioning.Provide direction on pricing, revenue management, MarCom, Rooms sales strategy, and tactics.Develop and implement the Annual Sales and Marketing Plan and budget process, analyzing the property's capabilities and identifying the direct sales, advertising and public relations programs to attract business.Develop marketing programs and manage hotel presence and content across all communication channels, developing the Public Relations strategy, and crafting Social Media strategy and distribution outlets along with overseeing updates and execution in collaboration with your PR Director.Continuously be aware of current and forecasted financial/business performance.Perform other duties and projects as directed by the General Manager or Senior Management.Undertake other duties and responsibilities outside of the daily/weekly routine, but within the overall scope of the position.You will be a People Leader who will:Recruit, select, and acquaint sales department staff with the Hotel and their operations.Work closely with the team (Director of Sales, Director of Catering, Revenue Manager, and Director of PR & Communications) on a daily basis as it pertains to sales and marketing activities for your responsible markets.Establish the performance standards in collaboration with the General Manager so that you may evaluate the progress of the allocated staff.Foster a cooperative working climate conducive to maximum employee morale and productivity where a diverse group of people work harmoniously together.Conduct performance evaluations and develop individuals for future advancement. Set annual goal targets and financial achievement targets for all sales and catering team members.Actively plan and manage the career development of every employee through effective coaching, training and by instilling company values.Display warmth, care and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with guests and team members; live the Golden Rule.Be an excellent planner and project manager, hands-on leader, assisting team members in crunch times; walk the talk.What you bring:Proficient in commercial capabilities such as Data & Analytics, Digital and Performance Marketing, Distribution Strategy, Revenue Management, Pricing, Market Segmentation Mix, Sales ROI Measurement, Annual Planning & Budgeting, Forecasting, Competitive Analysis amongst other commercial skills.Will be based in Lisbon, Portugal. Travel requirements will also include frequent business trips throughout the globe as set out in the annual Sales & Marketing Plan.The candidate must hold the required authorization to work in an European country.Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
