The Business Development Director will be responsible for building and cultivating prospective and existing customer relationships. This role will research, identify, investigate, and develop new Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) business opportunities through cold calling, trade shows, conferences, and various other means within the industry. The Business Development Director must gain a solid understanding of the requirements necessary to identify and satisfy the customer's needs and to ensure that ReciBioPharm can fulfill those needs through communications with key internal and external stakeholders. They will be the primary liaison with customers regarding new business identification through contract fulfillment.
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES Establish new client relationships focusing on Plasmids, Nucleic Acid (mRNA, LNP), Viral Vectors (AAV, LV, OV) and microbiome opportunities including process development, manufacturing, and sterile fill finish services.
Call on prospective accounts, provide technical and administrative product information, coordinate presentations, and support proposal generation.
Understand the CDMO market and be able to communicate the ReciBioPharm value proposition.
Work with internal stakeholders in manufacturing, process development, project management, engineering etc. to facilitate successful proposal, negotiation and implementation process.
Work closely with senior leadership to develop commercial strategy, goals, and actions.
Transparently track and communicate progress on new and existing customers with the ReciBioPharm leadership team.
Accompany and/or host customers for onsite company visits/audits.
Attend and represent ReciBioPharm at selected industry meetings and conferences.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic approach and the energy and drive to bring new customer deals to a successful conclusion.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in business or related field - Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or related life science major is preferred
Proven sales/business development track record. Minimum 3 plus years' experience
5+ years' experience in the CDMO/pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
Key account and territory management experience with academic, biotech/pharmaceutical life science customers
Needs an understanding of the pharma market initiatives and preferably having existing customer relationships.
Must have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Results driven, passionate, go-getter, with strong delivery and closing skills.
Must be able to build relationships through networking and referrals.
Willingness to accept up to 50% travel.
