Academic Staff Member - Degree Leader Maori Te Kuratini Tuwhera, Open Polytechnic, is Aotearoa New Zealand's leading distance and online learning provider. We're looking for an Academic Staff Member who will take on the responsibility of Degree Lead Maori, to join our Bachelor of Social Work team on a permanent basis. This is a full time position working 37.5 hours a week.
What type of person would succeed in this role? This role would suit someone with a deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, who is passionate about integrating Maori values and perspectives into education. The ideal candidate will be an experienced social work practitioner, have an excellent level of te reo Maori, and be skilled in fostering inclusive learning environments that empower akonga. You should be capable of leading academic initiatives that honour Maori ways of learning and support the success of all students.
Mo te tunga | About the role: You will need to be capable in: Teaching courses in the Open Distance Flexible Learning (ODFL) modality utilising interactive technology and best practice professional standards for online distance learning.Providing akonga with targeted and specific support that develops their knowledge and understanding of the subject matter.Fostering meaningful connections between Te Kura Wananga and academic delivery kaimahi, ensuring the integration of Maori values, knowledge, and perspectives throughout the delivery of our programmes.Advocating for policies and practices that uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, safeguarding the rights, wellbeing and success of akonga Maori within our organization.Taking leadership in programme development, changes and evaluation, ensuring programmes honour Maori ways of learning and empower akonga Maori to engage and achieve academic success.Nga pukenga mo te tunga | What you will bring to the role: We're looking for someone who has:
