The Commercial Data Steward is responsible for ensuring the fitness and usability of one or more data products. Working within the GBS Data Office (GDO) and collaborating with Commercial business users, this role maintains the quality, integrity, and accessibility of commercial data products and the Commercial Data Foundation. This position will focus on Customer Engagement and Brand Performance Commercial Data, encompassing master, transactional, and external data sets. Applicants must be experienced in data governance processes and possess strong knowledge and experience of data, data products, and the business processes that consume the data.
Accountabilities
Maintain documented standards, business rules, and definitions including data sources, metrics, and transformations in the Global Data Catalogue
Provide training, mentoring, and support on data standards to participants in the data governance community
Deputise for the Data Product Managers and organise and run specific working groups, and attend other relevant working groups
Execute and maintain data governance processes on newly launched data products
Liaise with Global & Local Data Stewards to manage new requirements and/or triage and resolve data issues and risks
Act as SME for Data Products to market data champions, project teams, and users
Provide oversight and direction for the market data champions and business users to ensure standards are embedded and followed
Act as the business owner for the Data Product requirements of data quality dashboards and monitoring tools
Direct initiatives to cleanse and improve data, in some cases reviewing data before it is loaded
Update stakeholders via working groups, service reviews, and project updates
Participate in project, process, or governance forums as delegate of the data product manager
Identify and raise process and systems improvement opportunities
Essential Skills/Experience
Proven experience of working with commercial data and systems (Veeva, Reltio, SAP) and analytics
Knowledge and experience of Data Product Governance activities and processes
Experience in the analysis, maintenance, and cleansing of large data sets
Good engagement, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including excellent organisational, presentation, and influencing skills
A 'Can do' attitude to understanding data issues, the impact, and proactively driving change.
High level of proficiency with common business applications (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint & SAP business user)
Desirable Skills/Experience
Experience of working in a global organisation with complex/geographical context
Pharmaceutical business awareness/business domain knowledge
