Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer We are hiring a data scientist to join our team which is driving innovation in hiring. In this role, you will need to combine your software engineering skills with a strong understanding of data-driven problem-solving. You will be responsible for maintaining, evaluating, and improving our current models while actively looking for opportunities using new developments in AI. You will be working closely with the Head of Product and will need to have an intuition for how data can improve our customer experience. We use hundreds of data points to build a true reflection of each person's experience and enrich clients' candidate databases with up-to-date employment and education history, skills, and experience in a matter of seconds. Responsibilities Take ownership of data science and work directly with the Head of Product and founders Plan and present progress on data science work to a business audience Learn how our products work, and how our customers think, to evaluate how data science can contribute to customer value Work closely with the Engineering team lead and software engineers to ensure our data science stack is integrated into our product Evaluate and improve our current models for skills extraction and matching Constantly look for new data sources applicable for data extraction for skills assessment purposes Implementation of best practices for retraining models as well as monitoring the performance of models in production (MLops) Deployment of ML models in the production environment Requirements 3+ years experience in a professional setting Experience with NLP problems: NER, sentence embeddings, unsupervised learning, SOTA models Familiarity with OpenAI: prompt engineering, JSON responses, and function calling Proficiency with Python and machine learning frameworks Experience with lean/agile development and test-driven development practices preferred Understanding of the AWS ecosystem for ML Experience with OCR, CV models, and techniques would be beneficial Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing Working conditions Competitive salary + stock options Relocation opportunity (Portugal) Work in a remote-friendly environment with a flexible schedule Geo-distributed team of experienced professionals and a collaborative work environment where employees are respected, supported, and engaged Career development opportunities, including attendance at international conferences and meetups, and networking #J-18808-Ljbffr
