It has the goal of disrupting the banking industry in Portugal by innovating in the arena of consumer payments, credit, and insurance.We currently have an opening for a Data Scientist to join our Customer Intelligence & Data Science team of dedicated professionals.You will be responsible for:Applying your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our customers engage with our products and how those insights can inform our product strategy.Leveraging machine learning techniques to create innovative data products that drive operational efficiency within our consumer finance operations.Collaborating with data engineers to ensure we collect pertinent data to derive meaningful business insights.Communicating with business teams to define objectives, needs, constraints and outcomes.Participating in designing, building, evaluating, launching, and refining Universo's products through hands-on ML development.Developing and maintain data processing pipelines to build and evaluate models.Sharing your knowledge and experience of how to build ML systems.Instilling a rigorous statistical and testing culture across Universo.If you have:3-5 years of experience in Data Science rolesStrong educational background in Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, ensuring foundational skills in data analysis, statistics & problem-solving.Proven experience in utilizing machine learning to derive insights and find patterns in the data.Solid grounding in SQL and Python as well as experience developing production Data SolutionsWorking knowledge of Python data stack (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn, etc.).Experience building production data processing pipelines and MLOps.Experience leading complex and ambiguous initiatives with full autonomy.Ability to learn quickly and dive deep into new subjects.Ability to interface and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.Bonus points if you have:Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).Our clients are the stars that set our course and make our work shine.
