The Role The Data Quality Analyst is a role in the Europe Data Team who is responsible to support the delivery of new Data Management practices within Hiscox Europe. Supported by Informatica platform, we aim to create the necessary processes, data quality rules, data lineage, data dictionaries, business glossaries, reference data repository (amongst others) to ensure we have a robust analytics solution for the future.
These new Data Management practices are part of the wider strategic objectives of our European Data Strategy. As we build our new Data & Analytics solution, we want to be able to build the necessary governance around it.
Considering this strategic Data journey, there is the opportunity to shape the path and deliver the outcome. There is also the need for you to contribute and work with the team in delivering our current commitments, so business as usual is part of this role.
What does a Data Quality Analyst do? A Data Quality Analyst is a subject matter expert in Data Management, responsible for:
Data governance processes and policies deliveringData quality assessment and monitoring using a Data Management toolBusiness concepts consolidation and alignmentThe ultimate objective is not only to ensure the robustness of Data & Analytics Platform, but also to expand the remit of these capabilities to our wider European application spectrum.
Main activities for this role should be:
Analyse Data Quality issues reported by Hiscox teams and act accordingly to fix them at the data source.Identify and analyse BAU changes with impact on business mappings according to business requirements.Maintain and implement changes on Data Management tool according to the data quality rules, business glossary terms and metrics, workflows and data portfolio.Monitor jobs execution on Data Management tool to ensure a correct update of catalogues based on the source systems, validate new scores of data quality processes and data profiling results.Implement data governance processes and workflows that orchestrate the entry, validation and approval of data changes using data governance tools (Informatica) to ensure policy compliance and change awareness over the Business Units.Ensure data compliance and data usage control in collaboration with Europe Privacy team.Contribute to a unique view of business concepts for all regions/business teams, by identifying and reporting inconsistencies in their definition or calculation.Support data consumers on self-service and concepts clarification.Technical must-haves Bachelor's / Master's degree, ideally in Management / Computer Science / Mathematic / Economics / Statistics (or similar)Previous background in Data & Analytics roles (2 or more years), preferably in Data Management (e.g. Data Quality)Knowledge of SQL or analytical/reporting tools required to perform data analysisAbility to understand business needs and translate them to technical requirementsFluent in English, verbally and writtenPersonality traits Motivated self-starter who can work autonomously and add value in a teamPassionate with a can-do attitude, looking forward to find ways to improve the way we manage our dataThirst for new ways of working to add value to the businessAbility to sell ideas and concepts providing background knowledge and information to the team as well as internal customersAbility to link business needs to technical deliveriesCustomer relationship management – ability to build productive relationships with end users and deliver robust solutions to themBusiness focusedAbility to work with ambiguity and changeFlexibility in both attitude and delivery styleResilienceNice to haves Experience in Business Intelligence, Data & AnalyticsExperience with Microsoft Business Intelligence and Analytics toolsPrevious experience with Data Management tools (Informatica preferable, SAS, Talend or any other relevant)Knowledge of Power BI to understand the data models and validate KPIs calculationsExperience with Agile/Scrum based methodologiesExperience in the Financial Services sector Work with amazing people and be part of a unique culture Why work here?If you want to help build a brilliant future; work with amazing people; be part of a unique company culture; and, of course, enjoy great employee benefits that take care of your mental and physical wellbeing, come and join us.
