About the opportunity: We are seeking a Data Analyst with strong expertise in Python coding and advanced knowledge of regression and linear optimization techniques. This role involves working on data analytics and optimization projects, with a focus on energy markets, and contributing to solutions that improve process plant operations. You will collaborate closely with business and technical teams to ensure successful integration with existing systems and provide valuable insights to stakeholders. Strong communication skills and a proactive, self-driven attitude are key to thriving in this role.
This is a hybrid role in Lisbon, Portugal.
Responsibilities: Data Analysis and Preprocessing: Adapt process plant model structures based on specific plant data. Analyze, validate and clean past operation data, validate operation limits, and update affected regression calculations.
Model Validation and Testing: Run the models against past operations data, ensuring compliance with upper and lower limits, production ramping speeds, and other parameters. Test optimization models against historical data and the plant model and optimize it.
Technical Integration: Coordinate the technical integration process with the business, project management and other involved parties. Ensure working integration to adjacent systems (e.g. Historian database, plant control system, etc.).
Report insights to stakeholders: Engage in effective communication with business and ROC (Remote Operations Center) regarding process parameters, constraints, and test results. Support business value estimation by running scenarios against simulations and past data.
Test Management and Continuous Optimization: Manage tests, ensuring execution and thorough analysis. Establish and maintain optimization models to run continuously. Monitor run performance and take proactive actions if runs deviate from expectations.
Required Qualifications: Proven knowledge of coding in Python.
Advanced knowledge of regression & linear optimization (Python-based, relevant libraries: pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, or-tools).
Working experience in data analytics with a proven project/solution track record.
Skills in data analysis & visualization (Python-based, relevant libraries: pandas, numpy, plotly).
Experience as Operations Research analyst or similar: worked with optimization models (e.g. Integer and Linear Programming) in the past.
Projects related with energy markets and experience working in similar industries (gas/oil/energy).
Fluent English (spoken and written).
Willingness for business travel (on an occasional basis).
Nice to Have: Self-driven attitude: Execute tasks self-responsibly. A can-do and get-stuff-done attitude is crucial.
