Job Description: As a Cybersecurity Engineer at D-Orbit, you will play a critical role in protecting our space and ground infrastructure. You will be mainly responsible for the research, development and implementation of new, state-of-the-art space cybersecurity solutions for our fleet of spacecrafts. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in proactive security activities with our IT Team, including offensive security practices to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in both ground and space assets. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and develop automated security systems to protect spacecrafts from cyberattacks. Contribute to the realization of spacecrafts and ground systems within our secure-by-design development framework. Perform occasional vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to ground and space platforms. Stay up to date with the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions. Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field[DA1] [MB2] Proven experience in cybersecurity, with a strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, and security frameworks. Knowledge of current state-of-the-art IDS and anomaly detection techniques, including machine-learning based approaches. Knowledge of IT network communication protocols. Experience with programming and scripting languages (e.g. Python, C, Bash). Familiarity with offensive security techniques and methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Optional Experience: Hands-on Experience with penetration testing tools (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap) and offensive security is a plus. Knowledge of embedded systems communication protocols. Knowledge of main radio-frequency transmission protocols and concepts. Experience with spacecraft digital architectures and satellite systems design. Experience with anomaly detection, especially in OT environments. Participation in CTF competitions.
