With offices spanning five continents, Robert Walters offers a truly global talent service to both clients and candidates alike.As a Country Director in Portugal, you hold a position of significant responsibility and authority within your organization. Your role involves overseeing and managing all aspects of your company's operations and interests in Portugal. This includes strategic planning, business development, financial management, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. Robert Walters is a people business, and therefore the company values of doing the right things, in the right way whilst maintaining a commercial focus will be key to successfully driving business performance.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Profitability OrientationDevelop and implement strategic plans to drive revenue growth and achieve financial targets.Drive business growth by expanding the company's client base, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and exploring new revenue streams.Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and client needs to identify business opportunities and adapt strategies accordingly.Lead and motivate the front office teams to meet and exceed sales targets and activity levels.Implement effective cost management strategies to optimize operational efficiency and maximize profitability.Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes to ensure transparency and accountability.Foster a culture of 'winning as one' and cross-sell our other service lines (outsourcing & advisory).Culture DevelopmentCultivate a high-performance culture characterized by teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.Lead by example and promote Robert Walters' values, ethics, and professional standards throughout the organization.Foster a positive and inclusive work environment where employees feel valued, engaged, and motivated to achieve their full potential.Implement initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, retention, and professional development.Champion diversity and inclusion efforts to ensure a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve.Leadership And Stakeholder ManagementProvide inspirational leadership and direction to the Portugal team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, candidates, and stakeholders to drive business growth and enhance the company's reputation.Act as a brand ambassador for Robert Walters, representing the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.Collaborate with regional and global leadership teams to share best practices, leverage resources, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.The Country Director must embody the ACE Leadership Framework principles of Authenticity, lead with Care, and adopt an Entrepreneurial mindset at the highest possible levels.Compliance And Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.Data and AnalyticsLeverage people analytics to identify trends, anticipate needs, and deliver impactful solutions.Knowledge, Skills, Experience, And QualificationsBachelor's degree in business administration, Management, or a related field. MBA or equivalent preferred.Proven track record of success in senior leadership roles (minimum Associate Director level), preferably within the recruitment or professional services industry.Strong business acumen with the ability to develop and execute strategic plans to drive revenue growth and profitability.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve exceptional results.Fluency in English is required, and learning Portuguese is preferred. Knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.Eligibility to work in Portugal.
