Aurora Lith, SA is a joint venture between Galp and Northvolt. An independent, private company established in 2021 which aims to develop opportunities related to the fast growing battery value chain. The joint venture is engaged in the development of Europe's largest and most sustainable lithium conversion plant to be located in Portugal.What we are looking forWe are looking for a Contracts Specialist to help build a new business from scratch, participating in the development of the EU Battery Value Chain, developing skills in an emerging industry, and being part of an energetic, entrepreneurial, and highly skilled team that does not understand the sentence "it is not possible".Your responsibilities:Contract Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from initial request and negotiation through tender assessment, award, execution, amendments, and contract closeout. Ensure all contracts are well-organized, transparently tracked, accessible and data is up to date.Contract Review and Negotiation: Review contract terms and conditions to identify potential risks, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with legal, procurement, project management, project services and other stakeholders to negotiate favorable terms and mitigate risks.Drafting and Preparation: Prepare, draft, and edit contract documents, including agreements, statements of work, contractual schedules, amendments, and other contract-related materials. Ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with business and project objectives.Legal Compliance: Ensure that all contracts adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards. Collaborate with legal counsel as required to address complex legal issues.Contract Administration: Maintain a centralized contract repository and tracking system. Monitor contract milestones, renewal dates, and obligations to ensure timely compliance and performance.Claims and Variation Management: Act promptly and accurately in accordance with the agreed contract to administer any changes. Ensure that communication is clear and concise to all stakeholders.Communication and Collaboration: Act as a liaison between various internal departments, external vendors and contractors, as well as stakeholders. Facilitate written and verbal communication to ensure contract terms are well-understood and executed properly in accordance with the Contract.Risk Management: Identify and assess potential contractual risks and propose strategies to minimize exposure. Develop contingency plans to address potential contract disputes or deviations.Contract Performance Evaluation: Monitor contract performance, including service delivery, milestones, and deliverables. Collaborate with project managers and relevant stakeholders to ensure contract obligations are met.Reporting and Analysis: Generate reports and provide regular updates on contract status, compliance, and performance metrics. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and identify areas for process improvement.Continuous Improvement: Participate in the development and enhancement of contract management processes, templates, and tools. Share best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.Education/ExperienceBachelor's degree in business administration, Law, or a related field.Proven experience (5+ years) in contracts management within a (major) project environment and the construction industry, preferably with experience in lithium, chemical, mining or resource sector projects.Proven experience as a Contracts Specialist or Administrator, or in a similar role involving contracts management.Thorough understanding of contract law, legal terminology, and contract negotiation principles of construction and project related contracts.Specific Skills/AbilitiesSolid knowledge of English (mandatory).Proficient user of Microsoft Office (required).Proficiency in contract management software and tools. Familiarity with CRM or ERP systems is an advantage.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.Dynamism, sense of responsibility and team spirit.Has a "can do" attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit.Good team player.Send us your application by: 22nd September 2023Email address: (insert email address here)
