Offer Description Work plan:
Analytical characterization of materials prepared in the framework of the project and historical objects;
Organization and participation in dissemination activities for different target audiences;
Collaboration with artists and designers to develop the materials proposed within the project.
Workplace:
The work will be developed at LAQV-Requimte research unit at Campus da Caparica and the Department of Conservation and Restoration of the NOVA School of Science and Technology, under the supervision of Dr Paula Nabais, being the hiring entity NOVA.id.FCT – Associação para a Inovação e Desenvolvimento da FCT.
The fellowship is valid for 6 months and is expected to start on January 1st, 2025. The fellowship contract may eventually be renewed within the duration of the project.

Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications:
Holding a Master in Conservation and Restoration, Conservation Sciences, or related areas. Preferred factors will be:
Area of specialization in Conservation Sciences;
Experience in the characterization of natural dyes by molecular fluorescence in the visible, UV-VIS Spectroscopy and high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with a diode array detector;
Experience in the preparation of historical reconstructions following recipe books and treatises;
Experience and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams;
Oral and written knowledge of the English language;
The candidate must be enrolled in a doctorate, or in a non-academic degree course integrated into an educational project of a Higher Education Institution. The documents proving this situation must be presented, at the latest, until the stage of contracting the fellowship, and before that they can be replaced by a declaration of honour.

Additional Information Monthly maintenance allowance:
The amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is € 1259,64, according to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT, I.P., in Portugal. The payment method is by bank transfer.

The selection methods to be applied are: A) Research experience in the field, including the preferential factors i) to iv): 70% (0 to 7 values); B) Interview: 30% (0 to 3 values).

Notification of results:
The jury's decision will be communicated via email within 90 days after the submission deadline and it will include the minutes and the temporary classification order of the applicants. After being given notice, the applicants will have 10 weekdays to challenge the jury's decision in the prior hearing, according to the terms in the Código do Procedimento Administrativo. The final decision will take place after the prior hearing and it will be communicated again via email to all applicants, who can challenge it within 15 weekdays to the email address used for the notification of the results, or within 30 weekdays to the Direcção da NOVA.ID.FCT (******).
