About the role
Lead and manage the editorial team of a renowned sports news website, ensuring the production of high-quality journalistic content, audience engagement, and platform growth.
Your main responsibilities
You will lead and motivate the editorial team, consisting of writers, social media managers, and other professionals.
Define the site's vision and implement it across all content.
Assign tasks, set deadlines, and monitor team performance.
Create a positive and collaborative work environment.
Supervise the production of all site content, including news, articles, analyses, interviews, and other formats.
Ensure the quality, accuracy, and impartiality of the content.
Stay updated on the latest news, trends, and sports events.
Identify and develop new content ideas.
Edit and review texts, images, and videos.
Ensure site traffic and audience engagement through effective writing and SEO strategies.
Analyse audience data and identify opportunities to improve content and user experience.
Interact with the audience on social media and other online platforms.
Represent the site at industry events and in media interviews.
Stay updated on best practices in digital journalism.
Seek new growth opportunities for the site.

Our expectations
Degree in Journalism, Social Communication, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a team leader or reporter in a media outlet, preferably in sports.
Fluency in Portuguese and English, both spoken and written.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong journalistic and ethical sense.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of online editing and publishing tools.
Experience with SEO and digital marketing is a plus.
Extensive knowledge of the sports world, including major sports, leagues, athletes, and events.
Understanding of digital journalism trends and best practices for audience engagement.
Familiarity with media laws and regulations.
