Offer Description Work Plan:
Analytical characterisation of historical tiles (glaze and pigments) using the techniques mentioned above;
Study and reconstruction of historical glaze and pigment recipes according to the results obtained;
Organisation and participation in dissemination activities for different audiences;
Supervision of research projects within the ChromAz project.
Workplace:
The work will be developed at VICARTE (Research Unit "Glass and Ceramics for the Arts") at NOVA School of Science and Technology, under the supervision of Dr. Susana Xavier Coentro and co-supervision of Professor Dr. Márcia Gomes Vilarigues, with NOVA.id.FCT as the hiring entity.
The fellowship is valid for three months and is expected to start on December 1st, 2024.

Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent
Mandatory Requirements:
Master in Conservation and Restoration or related fields within Heritage Science;
Research experience in the field of historical ceramic materials;
Experience in the characterisation of glass materials through SEM-EDX, XRF, µ-Raman, XRD and optical microscopy;
Oral and written knowledge of the English language;
Enrolment in an academic degree or a post-graduation course within the field of this fellowship.
Preferred Factors:
Experience in production techniques of glazed ceramic materials;
A track record of publications in fields of interest to the project, particularly historical tiles;
Capacity and work experience in multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Information Monthly Maintenance Allowance: The monthly maintenance allowance is €1,259.64, according to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT, I.P., in Portugal. The payment method is by bank transfer.
Selection Criteria:
Curricular evaluation (1 to 20): 50%;
Experience in the research field of the grant (1 to 20): 50%.
The jury will interview the three best-classified candidates with an evaluation above 15. In such cases, the evaluation criteria will be:
Curricular evaluation and experience in the research field of the call (1 to 20): 50%;
Interview (1 to 20): 50%.
All applications will be evaluated on a scale from 1 to 20. Applicants with a score below 15 will not be hired.

Form of Advertising/Notification of Results:
The evaluation results proposed by the jury will be notified up to 90 days after the deadline for submitting applications via email, with access to the minutes and the final ranking list. Candidates will have ten working days to comment on the draft decision. The final decision will be made after the expiration of the prior hearing period, and all candidates will be notified again by e-mail. Candidates can file a complaint within 15 working days or a hierarchical appeal within 30 working days.
