COMMUNICATION AND MARKETING MANAGER
The Algarve Biomedical Center Collaborative Laboratory - Integrated Solutions for Aging and Rejuvenation (ABC CoLAB) is an innovative triple-helix model in the health field, focusing on longevity and active aging. Its purpose is to transfer knowledge and technology to society and target markets.
The ABC CoLAB opens recruitment and selection tender for 1 Communication and Marketing Manager (M/F), vacancy for citizens of any nationality, including stateless persons, under the scope of application ALGARVE-FSE+-01177600, called Hiring Highly Qualified Human Resources, financed by the Algarve 2030 Regional Program and co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (FSE+).

Mission: The Communication and Marketing Manager reports directly to the Executive and Innovation Director (CEO/CIO) and is responsible for developing and implementing communication and marketing strategies and promoting ABC CoLAB's products and services.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Develop and implement, in collaboration with the CEO/CIO and the Executive Board, the ABC CoLAB marketing and communication strategy plan;
Create visual identities, branding, and institutional materials for products and services;
Plan and develop content for the website, institutional social media, newsletters, news, press releases, and other external communication platforms;
Collaborate with the research team to develop concepts and narratives (written and visual) that effectively communicate the desired message;
Coordinate, plan, and manage, in coordination with the CEO/CIO and Executive Board, activities related to the organization's internal communication (team and associates);
Advise the CEO/CIO and Executive Board on media relations;
Support the CEO/CIO in developing a brand aimed at the commercialization of products and services;
Coordinate event organization and develop all related communication;
Coordinate and manage, in collaboration with ABC CoLAB project leaders and associates, the communication and branding of each project;
Produce flyers, news, press releases, videos, and other communication materials according to the needs of ongoing projects;
Prepare activity reports related to communication/marketing functions for integration into project activity reports and plans whenever necessary;
Support ABC CoLAB's ongoing projects in communicating and disseminating results;
Represent the ABC CoLAB at events, fairs, and similar initiatives when requested.
REQUIRED PROFILE
Master's or PhD in Communication Sciences, Marketing, or related fields;
Proven proficiency in communicating complex ideas and concepts to different types of audiences (specialists and non-specialists) clearly and effectively;
Ability to identify the organization's communication and marketing needs;
Experience in managing website content on web platforms;
Mastery of internal and external communication techniques;
Strong skills in design and marketing;
Experience in branding and brand positioning;
Proficiency in Office, image editing, and vector editing programs.
For candidates with a master's degree, a minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required (MANDATORY).
Other Requirements:
Experience in communication and/or marketing in science, health, or similar fields;
Proficiency in planning, coordinating, and developing dissemination activities in national and/or European projects, companies, R&D entities, or public organizations is a plus;
Familiarity with emerging technologies;
Branding and brand positioning skills;
Written and oral proficiency in Portuguese and English.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

WORKPLACE
The activities will be carried out at the ABC CoLAB facilities, in Faro or Loulé, as well as other locations as needed to fulfill the required tasks.
CONDITIONS
40 hours of work per week;
The gross monthly base compensation to be awarded ranges from level 25 (€1,861.25) to level 33 (€2,294.95) of the Single Remuneration Table, according to qualifications and professional experience and with the available funding support.

1st Effective Member: Juan Correira, Sales & Marketing Manager at Algardata and Vice-President of the Board of ABC CoLAB;
2nd Effective Member: Vânia Roberto, Auxiliary Researcher at ABC-Ri and Scientific Officer at AD-ABC;
1st Alternate Member: António Silva, Marketing Director at Vofane Portugal and Board Member of ABC CoLAB;
2nd Alternate Member: Sara Ramos, Associate Professor at ISCTE and Vice-President of the Board of ABC CoLAB.
METHODS AND SELECTION CRITERIA
The applications considered admissible will be scored from zero (0 being the minimum) to twenty (20 being the maximum). If the jury decides it necessary, or in the event of a tie between candidates, an interview will be conducted with the top 3 candidates.
Admission to the competition : All candidates meeting the defined requirements of this announcement will be admitted.
Evaluation method :
The final score will be a weighted average of the curricular evaluation (50%) and the interview (50%).
Selection will be based on the candidates with the highest final score.
Curricular Evaluation (CE)
The curricular evaluation will be quantitatively expressed from 0 to 20, based on the addition of scores from the following objective criteria:
CE = 0.35 × A + 0.65 × B
A evaluates the candidate's academic merit based on professional training (0-20 points);
B evaluates previous experience relevant to the required functions, according to the following criteria:
Proficiency in communicating complex ideas and concepts to different types of audiences (specialists and non-specialists) clearly and effectively (0-3 points);
Ability to identify the organization's communication and marketing needs (0-2 points);
Mastery of internal and external communication techniques (0-2 points);
Experience in managing website content on web platforms (0-2 points);
Skills in design and marketing (0-3 points);
Experience in branding and brand positioning (0-3 points);
Knowledge of Office, image editing, and vector editing programs (0-1 points);
Product management skills (0-2 points);
Experience in communication and/or marketing in science, health, or similar fields (0-2 points).
Interview
Based on the curricular evaluation, and if the jury deems it necessary, or in the event of a tie, an interview will be conducted with the top 3 candidates.
The interview will be conducted either in person or via videoconference. The interview score will be based on the following criteria:
Creative and innovative mindset;
Comprehensive knowledge in the areas of marketing and institutional communication, branding, and product management;
Adaptability, flexibility, and collaboration skills;
Results orientation and problem-solving ability;
Motivation, autonomy, and proactivity;
Willingness to grow and acquire knowledge.
Each of these criteria will be scored from zero to twenty, with the total interview score being the sum of the criteria divided by six (0 to 20 points).
Final Classification
The final classification of each candidate will be calculated through a weighted average of the curricular evaluation (50%) and the interview (50%). After applying each selection criterion, each jury member will rank the candidates based on their final score. The candidate with the majority of votes will be selected. In the event of a tie, the Chairman of the Jury will decide.
The jury will hold as many meetings as necessary to reach a final decision, documenting the procedures used and all elements considered relevant to the final decision. If no qualified candidates are found or if the funding conditions significantly change after the publication of this notice, the jury reserves the right to close the procedure without making any recruitment. If the selected candidate does not accept the position or terminates the contract, the jury reserves the right to offer the position to the next candidate in the final ranking, based on a decision of convenience and opportunity.
COMMUNICATION OF RESULTS
The evaluation results will be published at https://abcri.pt/abc-colab/ and communicated to the candidates via email, within 90 business days after the submission deadline. Candidates have 10 business days to comment during the pre-hearing of interested parties, as provided by the Administrative Procedure Code. A final decision must be made within a maximum of 60 business days after the conclusion of the pre-hearing.
The provisions of the previous numbers do not apply if all candidates are granted the position, in which case the process is equivalent to the final decision.
RATIFICATION
After the pre-decision hearing, the final jury decision will be proposed for ratification by the ABC CoLAB Board.
OTHER INFORMATION
Candidates with foreign academic degrees or diplomas must present proof of recognition of their academic qualifications according to Decree-Law No. 66/2018. Any candidate without the recognition of their degree(s) will not be admitted to the competition.
