Goparity is an impact fintech that connects companies that need funding for sustainable projects with individuals and organizations who want to invest sustainably. Through our crowdlending platform, users can provide loans to entities that pursue sustainable projects. We have already financed more than 300 projects with more than 30 million euros and we are growing, both in terms of size and impact generated!

Goparity is regulated and supervised by CMVM and holds a UE crowdfunding license. We were born in Portugal in 2017 but have since then financed projects and grown a large community of investors all around the world. In 2022, our community invested as much as the total invested in the previous years together since the company was founded. We are looking for smart creative people who want to take part in our mission to democratize the financial sector, for the good of people and our planet.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are seeking a legal professional to join our Legal & Compliance team to provide legal support and strategic advice to business operations. Someone eager to work in a startup collaborative environment, in a business that is constantly evolving. Someone passionate about designing workflows to help shape the Legal & Compliance Department. ABOUT THE ROLE – KEY RESPONSIBILITIES As a Legal Counsel, you will be the second member of the Legal & Compliance Department and report to the Senior Legal & Compliance Counsel (Isabel F. Caiado). Work with loan and securities agreements, which are the base of our crowdlending services. Provide support to all teams on daily operations, particularly the Risk, Commercial, and Operations Departments. Work and review internal procedures and policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Support in managing external lawyers, in Portugal and other jurisdictions, in litigation, regulatory aspects, corporate and labour law. Excellent interpersonal skills, and a desire to build strong working relationships with the other departments. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment. Demonstrating business acumen, intellectual curiosity, creativity and lots of pro-activity! Expected start date: As soon as possible. ABOUT YOU Mandatory Law Degree from reputable Portuguese University (final grade: 13+) Portuguese resident 3-6 years of experience in a law firm or legal department of a company Experience in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements in Portuguese and English Advanced command of English (that allows you to work in English, in a corporate environment). Relevant in-house experience Experience in the banking & finance sector Domain of Spanish Commitment and availability Passion for sustainability, social entrepreneurship, and innovation. A positive, constructive, and proactive attitude when facing new challenges, including the ones that are not part of your job description, whenever necessary. HIRING PROCESS The stages for this hiring process are:

CV Screening. Screening interview (~15min). Interview with your manager (~60min). Interview with the CEO. A case study/challenge stage may be added to the process, if needed.

Salary range The gross salary range for this role is of a total gross package of 20,000€ to 26,000€, depending on experience.

25.5 days of vacations (3.5 extra days on top of the 22 legal days: 1 Carnival + 1 Birthday and + 1.5 days during the Holiday season (between Christmas and NYE).

Workplace We are remote-flexible (even before Covid) – maximum liberty comes with full responsibility. We are based in Wonder Work (Bairro Azul) in Lisbon, but you can work from anywhere if you do the work and comply with your team's core working hours.
We have one mandatory in-presence meeting, happening every quarter in Lisbon.
