About this opportunity
Key member of Gleeds project team responsible for representing the company and leading cost and procurement management aspects of a data centres construction project delivery. This role involves overseeing the financial and contractual elements to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Director will work closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to drive value and efficiency throughout the project life cycle.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Formulating and managing strategies to deliver the business objectives.
Ensuring that projects are managed in accordance with Gleeds processes and procedures.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring a customer care plan is in place.
Delivering high quality services and deliverables ensuring that services meet our Customer's requirements.
Resolving customer complaints.
Leading the commercial and cost management functions for hyper-scale data centre projects.
Developing and implementing commercial strategies aligned with project goals and client expectations.
Overseeing cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure financial control.
Conducting cost analysis and benchmarking to optimise project costs.
Managing contract negotiations and compliance to ensure all contractual obligations are met and risks are mitigated.
Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities, implementing risk mitigation strategies to protect project interests.
Promoting sustainable practices and innovative solutions in cost management.
Reviewing scope of appointments on a regular basis to ensure services are being delivered in accordance with appointments.
Ensuring sufficient resources are made available to deliver services on the project.
Leading and managing teams, including working with Associate Directors in managing resources and workload. Ensuring compliance with administrative requirements (appraisals, training, timesheets etc).
Briefing employees on relevant aspects of Gleeds business.
Managing service delivery for profit.
Managing the commercial aspects of projects (e.g. scope of services/deliverables, invoices, payments, and debt management).
Working harmoniously with other project team leads and assisting Project and Programme Directors.

About You
Who we're looking for:
Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
Sound cost management experience in Data Centres construction projects, covering pre-contract and construction/post-contract cost management tasks.
Practical knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
Sound knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasks.
Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written.
Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
Organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.
Excellent problem-solving, negotiating, finance, and numeracy management skills.
Sound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work as part of a team and manage teams.
Fluent English.
Ready to work site-based 5 days per week.
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Quantity Surveying.
Professional qualifications and/or membership of the RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or other relevant Chartered Institute are desirable.
