Bravemind is currently looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the Finance Department of a client that is the leader of its activity sector. We are looking for an experienced CFO who will ensure the smooth running of the Finance Department while developing and executing the company's financial strategy in line with regional directions and growth targets.
Note: As our client's office is in Alentejo, this professional needs to move to this specific area or live nearby. This is a 100% onsite role.
Responsibilities: Develop a comprehensive strategy for the Finance department, with a specific focus on bank refinancing, debt management, and shareholder loans;Effectively manage the Finance department and its legal and claims staff personnel to ensure smooth day-to-day operations;Align financial control policies with corporate governance standards, following the guidelines set by the Managing Director/General Manager and the Group financial guidelines;Regularly review business performance on a monthly and quarterly basis, comparing it against the company's short and long-term budget. Advise the Managing Director/General Manager on any discrepancies and necessary adjustments to targets, considering the prevailing economic environment;Monitor performance and conduct relevant financial analysis to provide recommendations to the executive team, facilitating data-driven decision-making and helping achieve the targets established by the Managing Director/General Manager;Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities, proposing appropriate financial strategies to mitigate risks and maximize returns;Manage and coordinate local financial management activities, as well as the preparation of consolidated financial statements, in accordance with Board directions and instructions from the Managing Director/General Manager;Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, offering accurate financial projections and conducting a thorough analysis;Take responsibility for treasury operations, including bank reports and negotiations. Ensure compliance with all statutory financial statements and tax requirements;Establish and enforce robust internal controls and financial policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company standards;Manage relationships with auditors, oversee the annual audit process, and implement any recommended improvements;Guarantee and uphold compliance with the key performance indicators (KPIs) of the team and the overall company.Qualifications: Master's degree in economics, finance, management, or a related field;MSc/MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CFA/CPA) is a plus.Experience: Minimum of 8 years' experience in similar roles;Minimum of 10 years' experience in a multinational financial environment, including a proven track record in business modeling;International finance experience.Skills: Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in an expanding company;Excellent knowledge of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, tax planning, data analysis, and forecasting models;Good understanding of IAS/IFRS;Familiarity with raising capital through non-traditional channels of credit;In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation, and bookkeeping;Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management;Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Language Skills: Fluency in Portuguese and English (mandatory).All applications will be reviewed within 15 days and the selected candidates will be contacted afterward, whereas the remaining will be included in our database for future opportunities.
