Who You'll Work With You will be based out of our office in Lisbon, Portugal. You will be part of our global client capabilities network and a key member of the Oil & Gas Practice. You will be working closely with consultants serving our clients globally in the topic domain of Oil & Gas.
Your team will primarily focus on providing research support to our Oil & Gas consultants. Oil & Gas is part of McKinsey's Global Energy & Materials (GEM) practice. You will also be dealing with the data, analytics, and technology arm of McKinsey's Global Energy (GEM) practice, covering proprietary market outlooks, asset benchmarks, and predictive analytics.
Your impact within our firm You will leverage a solid understanding of business trends, issues, and concepts to efficiently respond to complex research questions by delivering synthesized, actionable facts and insights to our consulting teams and clients.
You will also have the opportunity to work alongside senior colleagues on larger client projects and internal knowledge and capability-building initiatives. By collecting and analyzing data and information found in databases and/or other primary and secondary research tools, you will assemble a fact base, counsel consultants and clients on a variety of oil and gas topics, and provide insights and analysis for solving client problems.
You will likely perform a variety of analyses such as benchmarking, trend identification, industry profiling, market sizing, growth projections, opportunity scanning, etc., in order to add value to problem-solving discussions. You'll provide synthesis, insight, and client implications within tight deadlines via end products in the form of PowerPoint charts, written memos, models, and frameworks. In time, you will deepen your topic knowledge to become a content expert.
Your qualifications and skills An undergraduate degree in petroleum or related fields; advanced degree is an advantageRelevant industry, research, and analytics experienceOutstanding record of academic achievement and demonstrated aptitude for analyticsAmbition to work in a fast-paced, result-oriented team, with a steep learning curve and strong commitment to coaching and developmentAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and can work effectively with people at all levels in an organizationAbility to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writingFluent command of the English language
