The Higher Institute of Statistics and Information Management of the Nova University of Lisbon – Information Management School (NOVA IMS) opens a call for the award of 1 (one) research scholarship in the area of Risk Management, under the Research Scholarship Regulation of NOVA University of Lisbon and The Statute of the Research Fellow (EBI).
The grant will be funded entirely by Nova Information Management School (NOVA IMS) – Universidade Nova de Lisboa, under the framework of the "Centro de Investigação" within the scope of the PhD in Information Management.

Minimum Requirements To apply for the Doctoral Research Scholarship it is necessary to:
Hold a Bachelor's in Economics or Finance;
Have a master's degree in areas related to Risk Management;
Solid programming skills, particularly in Python and R;
Knowledge in Machine Learning;
Understanding of Data Science applied to Finance;
Attendance of PhD in Information Management.
Work Plan and Goals The work focuses on applying portfolio theory to optimize model combinations in forecasting exercises for economic and financial time series and incorporating them into risk management strategies. Various risk metrics, optimization functions, alternative meta-learning structures, and systematic backtesting methods will be considered.
The work emphasizes research in advanced methods of risk analysis and management through the drafting of research papers within the scope of national and international projects.
Compliance with ethical standards and responsibility is considered fundamental for the position.
The candidate is expected to dedicate part of their time to developing research proposals aligned with the Risk Management research line.
