A Call for one Research fellowship (Bolsa de Investigação) is open at Fundação D. Anna de Sommer Champalimaud e Dr. Carlos Montez Champalimaud (Champalimaud Foundation) in the context of the project entitled "Circadian regulation of pulmonary immunity by neuroendocrine signals", with reference "PTDC/MED-IMU/2189/2021", from the Call Nº PTDC 2021, funded by the FCT, through Portuguese National Funds.
The selected candidate willScientific description and work planExplore the functional impact of pulmonary circadian neuro/endocrine circuits in ILC2 responses in health and disease. To achieve this the selected candidate will work with genetically modified mouse models and will provide technical assistance with the characterization and purification of immune and stroma cell populations, using flow cytometry and transcriptomic analysis, both in steady state and in the context of pulmonary disease models. The selected candidate will work in close collaboration with an experienced Postdoc and under the supervision of the project´s Principal Investigator.

Remuneration1.064 Euros as determined by FCT, I.P. Scientific Fellowships regulations for Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores) and the Fellowship Regulations of the Champalimaud Foundation. Potentially, this value may be increased with other funds, according to experience and performance. The fellowship will be paid monthly by bank transfer. The fellowship holder will have personal accident insurance and, if not covered by any social protection scheme, can ensure the right to social security through adherence to the voluntary social insurance scheme.
The Fellowship will have the duration of 10 months, with the possibility of renewal up to a maximum of 18 months (never surpassing the termination date of the project, expected at 31/12/2024). The position is expected to start on or after 01/01/2024, in exclusiveness regime, as regulated by Lei n.º 40/2004, de 18 de Agosto, FCT (Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação Científica) and FCT Research Fellowship Regulations, as well as the Fellowship Regulations of the Champalimaud Foundation.
Eligibility criteriaNational, Foreign or Stateless candidate(s) who hold a Master degree in Biochemistry and a scientific and professional curriculum that reveals a profile appropriate to the activity to be developed.
In case of PhD degrees awarded by foreign higher education institutions, the degree must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 341/2007, of 12th of October, and all formalities established therein must be fulfilled by the deadline for application submission.
Selection processCandidates will be screened to determine eligibility based on minimum qualifications listed in call. Candidates meeting minimum requirements will be scored according to the required application materials: CV 70% weighting, motivation letter 20%, interview 10% (in case of a tie).

Notification of resultsAll candidates will receive a receipt of acknowledgment within 7-10 business days. The highest scoring candidate will be notified by email or telephone. All other candidates will be notified solely by email of the final outcome of the recruitment process.
After being notified, candidates will have 10 working days to present a claim for redress by email (******). If no claim is received by the Champalimaud Foundation, the Evaluation Committee's decision will become definitive.
