And that's where you come in. Location: Paço de Arcos, Portugal (Hybrid)We are currently looking for a Business Financial Controller to join Hitachi Rail GTS Portugal. The Business Financial Controller acts as a Finance Business Partner to the Bids and Program Managers, Finance and Executive Management Teams, with primary responsibility for all financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, project tracking, completing periodic reporting and providing insightful analysis and strategic financial support to the organization. Main Responsibilities: Business Controlling: Provide operational managers with timely, reliable, and relevant financial information necessary for decision-making processes. Within the framework of the Group performance plan, actively contribute to identify improvement initiatives for economic performance (growth, profitability, cash flow) and monitor their implementation and effectiveness. Prepare forecasts and simulations, monitor all financial indicators of the Budget. Ensure that financial aspects are taken into account when strategic decisions are made. Contribute to manage risks and opportunities and propose solutions. Bids and Projects Controlling: Support the bid/project manager in the monitoring of the bid/project as an efficient business partner. Ensure to be involved in and validate all decisions impacting financials of the bid or project. Ensure best practices are applied in revenue recognition, cost estimates, and risks assessment processes to secure the reliability of estimate at completion and risks provision. Review the assumptions related to the costs estimates, the coverage, and the consistency of estimates. Check the confidence level and the compliance of estimates with the requirements. During program execution, coordinate the analysis, update, and monitoring of the project's financial components in cooperation with project management. Evaluate exposure to financial risk, alert, and engage improvement action plan (currency exchange rate, payments balance, risk of payment default, inflation and economic risks, insurance...). Candidate Profile/Skills: University degree in Business Administration, Economics, or similar. Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles (Controlling, consulting, or similar). Technical accounting knowledge and IFRS rules. Experience in financial budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and controls. Able to analyze financial data and be critical. Good computer skills (Microsoft Office), including advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and experience. Fluent in Portuguese and English
