The Work You'll Do :
The main purpose of this role consists of ensuring the compliance of SOVOS products, services, and processes. The Business Analyst will have to analyze business applications according to government specifications to update and improve them.
This role is responsible for the analysis and monitoring of the functional development of computer applications, ensuring that it is compliant to avoid penalties by taking high-level defined concepts, doing deep research, helping build-out stories in the backlog, and helping test and execute in regards to APIs.
More specifically, you will :
Primarily responsible for monitoring and reviewing various regulatory agencies for changes to tax information reporting requirements and providing those requirements to the development teams.
Ensure that cross-product impact and end-to-end experience are considered for new tax information reporting and e-invoicing requirements.
Provide internal updates and presentations to the development department about upcoming compliance changes throughout the year as well as assist our operations group in answering compliance questions.
Review regulatory rules to ensure that operations, colleagues, and our products comply with regulatory requirements and corporate tax information reporting policies.
Establish and maintain a tax compliance repository that can be utilized by both the company's software development and operations staff.
Assist in monitoring business activities to ensure state and federal compliance deadlines are met.
Cultivate and foster strong working relationships with colleagues, external clients, and business partners.
Track progress of reviews of forms, publications, transmittals, etc.
What We Need From You :
Bachelor's or master's degree from a technical university or equivalent.
1+ years of experience in Business, IT, or Technology field.
API and Postman experience.
Familiarity with XML, XSD, and XSLT; JSON is a plus.
A willingness to work hands-on transforming XML to XML using tools provided by Sovos.
Experience in designing, implementing, or testing solutions in the Finance functional domain, or eInvoicing, EDI, or business process automation is a plus.
Fluent English (written and verbal).
