We are currently looking for 2 BU Category Managers. One will manage the Engineering and Site Services, and the second role is for Substation Automation and Communication Equipment.
Mission Statement: Lead the assigned spend with a short-term and medium-term compliant, resilient, and sustainable sourcing strategy to meet targets on total cost of ownership, reliability of supplies, and supply performance. Lead contracts and service level agreement negotiations in line with factory and HUB expectations to deliver price, lead time, and Terms & Conditions information and control its usage in local ERP systems.
Define and mandate the Supply Quality and Development team on Supplier Management activities. Lead collaboration with all internal stakeholders to support bidding, design to value (DtV), and R&D activities. Ensure implementation of a compliant and sustainable sourcing strategy for the assigned category.
Take the ultimate accountability and approval authority, and review and assure the quality of the team's operation in accordance with HE, BU, and HUB regulations and procedures.
Main Activities: Analyze commodity spend, market dynamics, and price developments to improve the category strategy and plan (using CIPS methodology) in accordance with business needs and HE procedures and regulations.Maintain cross-HUB collaboration for the assigned category.Align on the strategy with key stakeholders and communicate on a regular basis.Deliver on the targets for KPIs for the BU spend with a focus on cost, quality, and timely delivery.Lead the Demand collection process including detailed factory/HUBs requirements.Manage/Run tender/order specific RFx and negotiations where applicable.Distribute pricing, lead times, MOQ (if applicable), and Terms & Conditions information to the units and control its usage in local ERP systems.Improve on tender and project material costing.Promote cost breakdown analysis, should costing, and run regular benchmarks.Oversee the supplier relationship with regular review of contract execution, supply performance, improvement activities, and future plans.Lead supplier qualification for those in scope, perform risk assessment, and plan and assign audits to Supply Quality & Development Engineer.Based on performance data, evaluate, define, and monitor improvement measures for selected suppliers.Act as resolution owner on escalated topics as mapped in the escalation matrix.Manage claims in order to maximize compensation to Hitachi Energy.Work closely with other functions to initiate, promote, and support projects and bring value on total cost of ownership, risk mitigation, quality, cash, lead time, and material availability.Live Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.Your Background: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.7+ years of experience in a similar position.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers at a global level.Willingness to travel up to 25%.Fluency in English, both written and spoken.Since we are looking for 2 positions (one for Engineering and Site Services and the second for Substation Automation and Communication Equipment), based on experience we will assign the applications.
