Mission of the Role: The Bonding Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing technologies related to bonding processes using liquid adhesives. This role involves managing prototype production planning, ensuring global process standardization, and driving continuous process improvements.
Key Objectives of this Role: Manufacturing Technology Development:Develop and optimize bonding processes using liquid adhesives to ensure high-quality production.Collaborate with R&D and production teams to implement new bonding technologies.Conduct feasibility studies and trials for new bonding materials and methods.Prototype Production Planning and Management:Plan and manage prototype production activities to meet project timelines and specifications.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful prototype builds.Analyze prototype performance and provide feedback for process and product improvements.Develop and implement standardized bonding processes across global manufacturing sites.Create detailed process documentation, including work instructions, SOPs, and training materials.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Process Improvement:Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.Use data-driven approaches to troubleshoot and resolve bonding process issues.Lead continuous improvement initiatives and provide training to production staff on best practices.Qualification, Experience and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.3+ years (preferable) of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably with a focus on bonding processes.Strong knowledge of liquid adhesive bonding technologies and materials.Experience in prototype production planning and project management (preferable).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Master's degree in a related field.Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.Experience in a global manufacturing environment.Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to bonding processes.Key Behaviors: Critical ThinkingResilienceResult OrientationVisteon Value and BeliefsReporting Structure: Reports to Bonding Technology Manager
