Offer Description The researcher will develop an experimental approach for the determination of the photoinduced structural dynamics of photosensitive biomolecules in vivo using time-resolved X-ray scattering techniques.
Optimizing biochemical protocols for protein overexpression
Expressing and purifying proteins
Participating in time-resolved X-ray scattering experiments
Analyzing and interpreting experimental data
Modeling experimental data using molecular dynamics simulations
Presenting the results via reports and oral presentations in English
Proposing development and improvement of experiments
Writing protocols and research articles in English for the publication of the work carried out
Participating in the life of the research group
Supervising students
Participating in the Institute's scientific events
Located in the Grenoble European Photon Neutron (EPN) Campus (ESRF/ILL/EMBL/IBS), the Institute of Structural Biology (IBS) is a national and international leading center in the field of integrated structural biology. The IBS aims to develop structural biology science, a crucial field of research for understanding fundamental biological mechanisms. It contains 12 state-of-the-art facilities.
As a mixed research unit (CEA-CNRS-UGA), the IBS is composed of 21 research groups, each one offering a multi-disciplinary approach, at the frontiers of biology, physics, and chemistry. Nearly 300 people work there: researchers, doctoral students, engineers, and technicians in a multicultural and international environment.
The recruited person will join the Dynamop group which focuses on the study of the structural dynamics of biological macromolecules: Dynamop Group .

Additional Information Eligibility criteria:
Skills in biophysics or soft matter physics
Concepts of protein biochemistry (including protein expression and purification)
Knowledge of tools for analyzing experimental data
Knowledge of a programming language (Python, C++, etc.)
English (written/oral) level B2
Good autonomy
Pro-activity in research, scientific curiosity
Open-mindedness and listening
Good interpersonal skills and ability to integrate and adapt to the group
Communication skills (written and oral) and ability to report on your work
