What are you going to do? Design and Develop Backend Services: Architect, design, and build scalable, secure, and robust backend services and APIs using TypeScript Database Management: Create, implement, and manage database schemas, queries, and transactions to support core application functionality. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions. Optimize Performance: Enhance application performance by optimizing server-side logic and database queries for high responsiveness. Code Review and Mentorship: Perform code reviews to ensure high-quality standards and mentor junior developers. Testing and Debugging: Write and run unit and integration tests, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs or performance issues. Stay Current with Industry Trends: Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in backend development and TypeScript to leverage best practices and tools. What are we looking for? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of backend development experience. Proven expertise with TypeScript and JavaScript. Hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as Node.js or NestJS. In-depth understanding of server-side programming and architecture. Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL or MongoDB. Proficiency in building RESTful APIs. Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git. Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes (plus). Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with a preference for AWS (plus). Understanding of microservices architecture and design principles (plus). Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment tools (plus). Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks like Mocha, Chai, or Jest (plus). Strong problem-solving abilities and independent critical thinking. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese (C1 or above) and English (B2 or above); Availability for a hybrid work model – 2 days a week working on-site at the office in Braga.
