This position provides leadership, direction, and oversight to Pharmacy Operations to these campuses while functioning in a matrixed reporting relationship with System Pharmacy. The Associate Vice President, Pharmacy-TMC is responsible for the planning, implementation, direction and supervision of all aspects of personnel, budget, performance improvement, education, and policies/procedures for pharmacy and automation technology projects to achieve maximum operating efficiency and effectiveness within budgetary constraints. This position collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care and optimize patient outcomes.Job DescriptionMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's degree in PharmacyLicenses/Certifications: Licensed by the Texas State Board of PharmacyExperience / Knowledge / Skills:Seven or more (7+) years of leadership or management experience, preferably in hospital-based pharmacy – acute care.Experience in an academic medical center and/or pediatric hospital preferred.Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility and deal effectively with a highly matrixed, rapidly changing environment.Strong organizational, analytical and communication abilities.Understand key business, management and financial planning principles.Ability to work collaboratively to achieve established goals.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESProvides leadership and direction to TMC Pharmacy which includes Director of Operations, Director of Purchasing/Contracting, Director over the Children's Hospital and manager over rehabilitation facility.Collaborates with area schools of pharmacy to develop and maintain strategic partnerships.Leads pharmacy residency programs to support the mission of an academic medical center.Accountable for managing people, setting direction, and deploying processes and resources in coordination with campus leadership and System VP of Pharmacy.Accountable for Pharmacy operations within the scope of the campuses which includes departmental operations, and pharmacy processes and programs while functioning in a matrixed reporting relationship with System Pharmacy
