Your new company Elementis is a global specialty chemicals company, with over 1,300 employees working at 23 locations across the globe. They create high-value specialty additives that enhance the performance of their customers' products and make a positive change in the world.
Elementis is establishing a new office and modern laboratory in Porto, Portugal. They offer exciting roles in Research & Development, Human Resources, Finance, Logistics, Customer Service, Regulatory/Product Stewardship, Sales & Marketing, providing a diverse range of opportunities to grow and make an impact. Most of the roles are regional or global.
Your new role You work within a team to support new product development, testing, and stability .
You will conduct bench scale experiments, necessary to support projects related to customers, new product launches, and raw material qualifications following good laboratory practices, and adhering to proper safety procedures.
You will communicate project updates in a timely manner with the manager and the team, offering solutions to effectively execute lab projects.
You will perform maintenance and set up of application preparation and measurement equipment in accordance with the existing Elementis HSE and lab instructions.
You will maintain comprehensive and accurate records of experimental details in corporate notebooks.
Responsabilities
Plans and aligns: Maintain a record of all lab projects (retain samples, logbooks) in an organized manner.
Collaborates : Required to work collaboratively with all the teams with the mindset of helping the team as needed.
Global Perspective : Taking a broad global view when approaching issues .
Action Oriented: Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm .
Communicates Effectively : Utilizes different modes of communication to get full clarity of the project for a successful outcome.
Situational Adaptability : Ability to prioritize projects . Can transition effectively from projects on hand to priority projects depending on the situation
Basic understanding of paint formulation and ingredients.
Basic project management skills.
Should be familiar with paint testing equipments.
Basic understanding of application tests relevant to architectural coatings.
Basic understanding of Talc used in Architectural coatings.
Eager to learn new test methods critical for projects.
What you'll need to succeed Bachelor's degree in chemistry or other sciences. 2 –3 years in relevant fieldMicrosoft Office, Presentation software, Microsoft Teams, Project Management softwareVerbal and written fluency in English
