Overview The Sadewasser Research Group is dedicated to the development of micro- and nanostructured solutions to improve the performance of thin-film solar cells.
We are looking for an Application Engineer to join our team in the Solid State Thin Film Batteries project of the New Generation Storage (NGS) Agenda, under the PRR framework.
Job DutiesThe job duties will be the following:
Setup and management of a thin-film battery deposition system comprising several vacuum chambers for sputtering and thermal evaporation, atomic layer deposition, and glove boxes;Provide technical guidance and training on operation and process control of the battery deposition system;Support scientific staff in process development tasks, materials and device characterization, data analysis, and project reporting;Maintain records of process and equipment performance and maintenance schedule.Mandatory QualificationsEducation MSc Degree in Physics, Material Science, Material Engineering, or similar.Experience and Technical Skills Experience in thin-film deposition, vacuum equipment, sputtering and/or evaporation;Experience in battery fabrication;Solid knowledge and hands-on experience of operation of vacuum deposition equipment and related maintenance tasks.Other Skills and Qualifications Additional relevant experience in characterization of materials and devices will be positively evaluated, such as scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, photo-electron spectroscopy, etc;A PhD degree will be evaluated positively.Personal Skills "Hands-on" approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines;Highly organized and dynamic;Problem Solving ability;Customer orientation;Ability to work independently and as a team player.BenefitsTax benefits and other Diplomatic privileges;Private health insurance;Family allowances (according to family situation);Free nursery service at INL premises (subject to availability);Support for education fees of dependent children;Relocation support;30 working days of annual leave.How to ApplyThe application must be in English and include the following mandatory documents:
